NOTICIAS/ NEWS INTERNACIONAL published June 25, 2010 Dr Andreas Dietzel becomes new Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Germany Three practice area heads and office managing partner Munich also elected The German partners of leading international law firm Clifford Chance have elected Dr Andreas Dietzel to be its new Managing Partner. He will succeed Dr Hans-Josef Schneider, who has been Managing Partner Germany since 2002. Dr Dietzel has been elected to serve a four-year term, with handover from Dr Schneider to be completed by the end of this year. At the same time, Dr Patrick Biagosch has been re-elected as office managing partner Munich, Dr Josef Brinkhaus was confirmed as head of the Firm's German Tax practice and Riko Vanezis as head of its Banking & Capital Markets practice. The new head of the Corporate practice is Dr Arndt Stengel who succeeds Dr Andreas Dietzel in this role. Andreas Dietzel has been a partner at Clifford Chance's Frankfurt office since 1993. In 2002 he was elected head of the German Corporate practice area. He also leads the Firm's global industrials sector group. Dr Dietzel advises national and international clients on corporate structuring and M&A transactions. "I would like to thank the partners for the trust they have placed in me", Dr. Dietzel said. "Market changes create opportunities for those law firms prepared to take the initiative. As a result, in the current environment, I see significant potential for Clifford Chance to further expand its market position." Outgoing Managing Partner, Dr. Hans-Josef Schneider, said, "Since the merger of Clifford Chance with Pünder, Volhard, Weber & Axster and Rogers & Wells in 2000 our firm has gone through a very positive period of development. Both globally and in Germany we have become one of the leading law firms. It was a great challenge and also a great pleasure for me to contribute to this development. I wish Andreas every success."
