Freshfields advises Credit Suisse and Barclays Capital on Qatar Holding disposal of Barclays shares

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, as book runner, and Barclays Capital, as lead manager, in the sale of a 3.5% stake in Barclays PLC by Qatar Holding. Consisting of an accelerated bookbuilt offering of ordinary shares in Barclays, held at the time of the transaction in the form of warrants which Qatar Holding acquired in October 2008, the transaction was worth in excess of £1.4bn. The Freshfields team advising on the transaction was led by corporate partner Sarah Murphy and corporate senior associate Doug Smith.
