Norton Rose adds competition, regulatory and EU capability to its Paris office

International legal practice, Norton Rose LLP, has announced that Mélanie Thill-Tayara has been appointed as partner and head of its competition, regulatory and EU capability practice in Paris.
Mélanie joins from Salans where she was partner and headed the French and European competition law practice group that she created 18 years ago.
Before Salans, Mélanie, who has a strong market reputation in France and in Europe, had been working as an official of the European Communities Directorate for Competition. Particular sectors in which she has expertise include: life sciences, luxury goods, press distribution as well as consumer goods.
Mélanie graduated in political sciences from the University of Munich (1980) and has a master’s degree in international private law and international business law from the University of Paris I Sorbonne (1985). She was admitted to the Paris bar in 1987.
Mélanie will be joining Norton Rose LLP with a team of 3 lawyers. Among them, Marta Giner, will be an of counsel.
Marta Giner had joined Mélanie’s team in 2005. She graduated in law from the University of Valencia (Spain - 1994) and has a master’s degree in business law (1995) and in international business law (1996) from the Universities of Paris XII Créteil and Paris X Nanterre. Marta also obtained an LL.M in international trade law from the University of Essex. She was admitted to the Paris bar in 2002 and the Valencia bar in 1996.
