SJ Berwin announced six partner promotions, two of which are in the London EU & Competition team, Philipp Girardet and Cameron Firth. Cameron Firth has established himself as a talented and highly efficient lawyer with a broad practice covering mergers, cartels and behavioural issues as well as litigation on competition and regulatory matters across a wide range of sectors. Cameron has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical regulatory sector having recently been recognised by International Who’s Who as a Leading Life Sciences Lawyer. As the Deputy Director for Cartels at the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) until 2007, Philipp Girardet has used his unique expertise and reputation in the field of cartels, to further build on the Department’s profile in this increasingly important area of our practice. As a partner Philipp is keen to further develop the team’s cartel expertise and to build on his wider merger, behavioural and regulatory practice. SJ Berwin's competition team has had another very strong year, growing the practice by around 30% in London and across Europe, working for prestigious clients such as Associated British Foods, Ladbrokes, Procter & Gamble, Marks and Spencer, Qantas Airways and Telefonica O2. Cameron and Philipp will strengthen the firm’s award winning competition team - the only practice to have won Legal Business’ Competition Team of the Year award on three separate occasions.
