Clifford Chance has been voted by in-house counsel as International Law Firm of the Year in the Which Lawyer? Law Firm Awards 2009. Voting was conducted online and was open to 5,500 in-house counsel from across the globe as listed in Law Department Profiles. Voters were free to pick their own winners or choose from the nominees suggested by the PLCWhich Lawyer?Team. The winners are those firms with the most votes from in-house counsel in each category. Some of the comments made by the in-house counsel who voted for Clifford Chance are, ' the firm's breadth of experience and expertise allied with commercial approach' as well as ' strength in a large number of jurisdictions'. Clifford Chance London Managing Partner Jeremy Sandelson commented: "We are truly delighted to receive this award, which recognises the Firm's ability to combine the highest global standards with local expertise.
