Travers Smith head of corporate finance Spencer Summerfield and corporate Of Counsel Sandra Bates have advised Juridica Investments Limited ("Juridica") on a significant new investment of $62 million in a portfolio of five cases. The investment implements a unique structure contemplated at the time of Juridica's IPO in 2007 and adapted for the complex nature of the investment in compliance with local law and rules on professional ethics. Juridica is a limited liability, closed-ended investment company registered in Guernsey. The investment objective of the Company is to build a diversified portfolio of direct and indirect investments in litigation and arbitration cases, claims and disputes. The ultimate goal of the Company is to be a leading source of value-added and direct financing for large claims in complex litigation and arbitration worldwide
