Eversheds/Millstream Associates seminar to provide practical explanation of EU procurement rules
Understanding the complex framework of EU Procurement rules and case law is essential for anyone working in procurement or involved in the public sector. Learning how to apply the rules can be challenging. International law firm Eversheds, together with Millstream Associates Limited is hosting a seminar at its One Wood Street headquarters in London on 10 December 2008. Experts from Eversheds and myTenders will cover a wide range of issues, from completing Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) forms, to the latest information on EU procedures. David Hansom, Solicitor at international law firm Eversheds, comments: “It is increasingly essential for those working in procurement to understand and be able to apply the EU legislation on public procurement. Procurement is more high profile than ever. The obligations can be complex and affect matters such as how a contract is advertised; the selection of applicants to tender for a contract; the evaluation of tenders; confidentiality issues and the information which contracting authorities are required to make available. More and more, processes are being challenged, and a successful challenge can have a serious impact, such as negative publicity, an award process being halted, or the award of damages against a contracting authority. Those involved in purchasing should not miss this event.”
