International law firm Eversheds to advise London Thames Gateway Development Corporation on all real estate aspects of Lower Lea Valley and London Riverside regeneration. Eversheds LLP has won a competitive tender to advise on all real estate matters for London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC). The firm will offer strategic and transactional regeneration advice helping LTGDC to implement its programme for the delivery of homes, employment, transport, social infrastructure and environmental enhancements in the Lower Lea Valley and London Riverside areas. LTGDC is set to invest £237 million gross and £120 million net in eight key locations over the next three years and aims to attract £1.8 billion of private sector investment into the region. The Eversheds team is being led by Stephen Sorrell, head of the firm’s real estate development group. Sorrell comments: “We are delighted to win this important contract with the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation and to continue our proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex regeneration schemes. It is an exciting and challenging time for LTGDC as it implements the next stage of its regeneration programme in accordance with its Corporate Plan for 2008-2011 and we look forward to helping it achieve this.” Peter Andrews, Chief Executive of LTGDC, says: “Eversheds is a leading advisory practice in its field and will provide strategic legal advice on all our property related transactions in the Lower Lea Valley and London Riverside areas. We’ve made significant progress and look forward to working with Eversheds to build on this success to deliver new homes, employment, transport, and social infrastructure that will transform east London.” The Lower Lea Valley incorporates parts of the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney and Waltham Forest. London Riverside incorporates parts of the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Newham.
